The Canny Man’s is actually a nickname for the public house as the pub’s original name is the Volunteer Arms, a traditional name used for bars back in the late 1800’s.
In 2024, we worked with the Kerr family to bring their family's original house malt, The Golden Drop, back to life!
Long-time patron David Park describes this fifteen year old blended malt best. “It feels like you’re drinking history. Every sip tells a story — but it’s so smooth, so balanced. You can tell every detail has been thought through.”
