The 250th anniversary of the United States is a historic milestone. As America 250 commemorates the events that led to the birth of a nation, we're proud to introduce a collection of commemorative Scotch whiskies inspired by the remarkable Scots and Scottish Americans who helped shape the American Revolution.

The inspiration behind our America 250 Collection comes from co-founder Andy, whose academic research focused on the role of Scots in America. Having studied Scottish and American history at the Universities of Glasgow, Alabama and Oxford, Andy has spent years researching the influence of Scottish immigrants and their descendants on the founding of the United States.

This inaugural 250th Anniversary Collection features three different bottles, each showcasing a famous historical painting depicting a Scottish American who played an often forgotten role during 1775, the opening year of the American Revolution. 

Patrick Henry of Virginia, who coined the phrase "Give me liberty, or give me death," featuring Peter Rothermel's Patrick Henry Before the Virginia House of Burgesses, 1851. Born the son of an Aberdonian scholar, planter, and justice of the peace. His attachment to Scotland is evident in his writing and in his character. His plantation home "Scotchtown" still stands today.

Ebenezer Munroe of Lexington, who according to legend fired "The Shot Heard 'Round The World," featuring the Battle of Lexington by William Barnes Wollen, 1910. The grandson of John Munroe of Easter Ross, who was captured by Cromwell during the Civil War and transported to the colonies, at Lexington Common the Munroe clan accounted for about 10% of the minutemen. 

Andrew McClarey, an Ulster Scot who abandoned his farm and rushed to serve in the 1st New Hampshire Regiment under Glaswegian-born John Stark, and was the last man to die at the Battle of Bunker Hill. Scottish-born immigrants and their descendants served as soldiers, members of the Continental Congress, frontier leaders, merchants, educators, and thinkers whose influence can still be found throughout the history of the United States. Their contributions form an important part of both Scottish American heritage and the wider story of America's founding.
